PERTHNOW - The name to drop at the Australian Grand Prix on Friday was a difficult one to pick up in the first place.
Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente Scherzinger, the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls, was at Albert Park to be seen and to confirm that she has returned as a presence in the life of McLaren F1 driver Lewis Hamilton.
On a day when the likes of Lenny Kravitz and a lesser African prince decorated the F1 paddock, it was Scherzinger who the paparazzi wanted.
A semi-permanent fixture on the Hamilton arm since 2007, Scherzinger, 34, became engaged to the 27-year-old one-time F1 world champion in 2011 and was apparently ditched within months.
But speculation that the pair were back together got its verification in Melbourne as she took refuge from the pursuing cameras in the McLaren hospitality suite and then joined Hamilton to show Kravitz around the team garage.
The women of F1 The singer, songwriter, musician is in Melbourne to perform at Sunday night's post-grand prix concert at the Myer Music Bowl.
Hamilton, meanwhile, responded favourably to the Scherzinger presence by turning in the second-fastest time in the first F1 practice session of the season.
